I have said before

And I say again

The mere fact

that an miniscule,

invisible rouge

Like the sars-covid2

pathogen

Can hold us to ransom

binging deaths,

rendering us helpless

and at its mercy

Economies wrecked

Lives ruined

And jobs lost

Tells us that

Humanity is not

the top of the

food chain

If humanity is

the pride 

of Evolution

It is a pride

lost to a brainless

capricious pretender

And if humanity

is god's glory

It is a discredit

to its name

A being supposedly

Omnipotent,

omniscient

Nothing impossible 

to it

Ever loving,

compassionate

And yet,

failing miserably

A creator inept

and mean

Bar the sad

human excuses, 

to exculpate

and excuse god

For the mercy

and grand scheme,

of redemption 

heaven and hell
