It is midnite as I write. 

The weather is a cool 29C- 

The crickets are having a jolly time outside and I am beginning to feel sleepy

What are you doing? 

Hope you aren't asleep yet

This is like a shot in the dark, not knowing whether you are still out there

Now it's starting to rain

As I look outside the window I see flashes of lightning at a distance

The rumbles of thunder preceding

I  keep wondering, am I alone?

Are you asleep?
